After this was taken, the paint and the wall started falling off. Finally, we spent $8000 to fix the wall and got it painted March 2001. Now it looks different and better than before, but we know this is only temporal.

Our church building is 42 years old. The building’s foundation is rotten and very dangerous. We need to have money to build a new church building and would like to ask you to help us in this matter. Our goal is to raise approximately $300,000 within five years. Because the number of members of the Yokota church fluctuate from 20 to 30 from year to year, it is very difficult to raise money by ourselves.
We will use this building for two purposes, an American assembly and a Japanese assembly. Americans meet in the morning and evening. Japanese meet at two o’clock in the afternoon. Therefore, your contribution helps not only your fellow Americans who serve the U.S.A. in the Air Force, but also a mission work in Japan.
